Jargonnaut is a privately owned and operated content and consulting provider. Currently, there is only one member of the internal team (that’s me), but I am supported by former colleagues, current vendors, and a variety of consultants whom I can leverage to complete any task necessary. Since I am centrally located in the San Francisco Bay Area and very close to the heart of the Silicon Valley, it has been my pleasure to get to know many professionals in the internet, marketing, online ad, and client services industries.
As founder, I bring many years of varied professional experience to the table for every consultation. My career began as an international and domestic operations agent at an International Freight Forwarding company. I spent four years with this firm involved in all facets of the business and working with clients such as Nortel, HP, Sun Microsystems, Cisco and the US Government. I left the freight forwarding industry to join the technical revolution and found a company San Mateo, CA. This was an agency style, full service email marketing service provider that was ranked as one of Forrester’s best during the days of Message Media and DoubleClick. My experiences there included HTML production, account management, and business analysis. It was probably the best professional experience I’ve had so far along with great opportunities to work with clients like Microsoft, HP, Intel, Dell, the Gap, Eddie Bauer, Wal Mart, Target, and many more.
What could lead me away from such a great situation? Well, of course, the opportunity to work at Yahoo! I joined Yahoo as part of a technical marketing team specializing in email and was later moved into Ad Systems where we built systems to support a vast variety of marketing efforts. Yahoo was also a great experience and it introduced me to the true nuts and bolts of driving clicks and counting revenue. They were quite good at it. :) Like many others, I left Yahoo to manage projects at a local SAAS company building HR applications. I moved on after 18 months and found myself right in the middle of the Jargonnaut content revolution.
I have engaged in side projects and little businesses here and there over the years. The first would be an internship at a post production video facility. I wasn’t involved in editing (how cool would that be), but I did learn a lot during my time there. It also led to some freelance graphic work that I did for a small one person graphics shop. You’ll see on my ‘Passions’ page that I also blogged about motorcycle racing and tried to find many ways to migrate into it professionally. I guess it’s tough when you don’t want to give up all of your previous years’ professional experience.
But as my passion for writing grows, I don’t feel like I am missing out on anything and look forward to the opportunity to create and innovate.
